I am in favor of NON-COERCIVE encouragement of public transport - including more frequent busses, for one thing. THE PROBLEM: that the measures are not to be or stay non-coercive. I see, in the nearest city, car lanes being removed and bike lanes added - though there are very few bike riders, and though this makes for horrible traffic (car) congestion, especially in rush hour, which becomes ULTRA SLOW HOUR.
Yes, the city of Toronto announced a $48,000,000 plan to add more bike lanes. As it is now I rarely seen anyone using them and in winter here no one uses them.
If the plan to eliminate gas and diesel fuelled cars by 2035 goes into effect then the problem of people using cars will be solved for the perpetrators of this scheme. The cost of electric cars will skyrocket as their are not enough lithium and cobalt reserves to manufacture a car for everyone so market forces will push the price of a car beyond reach of all but the rich. Car rental agencies will do well. As gas powered cars reduce in numbers the cost of fuel will go up making a used fueled car both expensive and operating cost expensive. My thinking is the liberal governments have not thought this through. It takes years to get mineral deposits to the point of producing (environmental studies, licenses, bureaucratic red tape, etc,)
Folks will never go for it, and why, let me repeat the words of an ex-NBA journeyman, "The people will never get rid of all that junk."
Let me tell you, they aren't getting rid of their stamp collection, Princess Di collection, AR-15 collection, knick knack collection, or any other collection, so they can rent a toothbrush from the Globalists. It ain't going to happen.
That part of the plan they're not telling people, especially those connected to government and administration is that these 15 m.c.s will be 'managed' by AI. Politicians and civil administrations will become redundant and no longer necessary. That is, they'll be out of a job.
Our precious technological society runs on energy, which is mainly oil energy. There is no substitute for oil. Moreover, the supply of oil is going down (whereas in the 20th century it always went up). There is a lot of arm-waving these days about green energy -- energy sources that don't depend directly on combustion (like wind, and solar). It can't work, though, because the EROEI is too low. The acronym stands for Energy Returned On Energy Invested. All energy sources take energy to make them work: you have to cut down a tree in order to use it for firewood. In the early days of oil production the ratio was around 100:1, but now it is down to somewhere between 10:1 and 4:1 (these figures are hard to come by these days, and are disputed). The EROEI of the so-called substitutes is likewise disputed, but is near 1:1. Some have even made the case that, if you factor in everything, the EROEI is actually less than 1:1, which means they aren't energy sources -- it only looks that way on the surface if you neglect the subsidizing by oil (oil powered mining equipment, for instance).
So if you're an elite, you naturally want to maintain your own pseudo-twentieth century energy-rich lifestyle. That means in the first place you need fewer overall people, and secondly the remainder must use less energy per capita than previously. So you have to kill-off a substantial portion of the current population (for instance with toxic vaccines), and secondly strictly control energy use by the remainder. Eliminate the rural population with geoengineering. Put everyone into 15 minute cities, the essential characteristic of which is to form a kill box, where you either play ball (and receive toxic vaccines) or not play ball (where you can't buy or sell anything) and starve. Lord, have mercy.

Does this have to do with the 15 minute cities?
Maybe smart city.

Awful. Really awful. It seems unstoppable at this stage. But, we'll see.

The carbon they want to reduce is you.
