In my small town of 25K we used to have three large family owned grocery stores a Walmart which also sells groceries and a Kroger. Now in the last few years we have only one plus Walmart.

A barter system cannot exist within a middlemen system.

I don't know, Lisa; what makes you think that this is communism"? I was born and raised in a "communist" country and I promise you: it was NOT like that. But you know what we had? Employment, cheap housing, free education and free healthcare... Sure, there were other parts less pleasant, but our "beloved leader" wanted MORE subjects, NOT fewer.
What we see are the final stages of an insane financial capitalism, imploding; turns out that any extreme and power without control are VERY BAD...
This isn't but the solution bandied about is price controls by the state. So ergo, communism in response to this profit gouging mechanism is not communism.
