Yes ridicule them often, and when family or friends emulate and repeat their lies just roll your eyes and shake your head while correcting them with evidence asking them why they don't know these things? In public remember there are those who feel they're compromised especially the elderly, so smile politely at them in acknowledgement they will appreciate it, remember it's a choice too. However don't be afraid to point things out when chatting at the cash registers or in stores and other public settings when you hear the lies being spread, but do it intelligently with facts, even keep some on you or in your phone to show. Arguing accomplishes nothing.

After reading your post what came to mind was Saturday morning Cartoon’s, which I looked forward to when I was a kid. They are the Cartoon “characters” that are trying to put us into their Loony Tunes. We can’t let them, because if we do they’re not going to be funny anymore.
