Explanatory Note
Class 29 includes mainly foodstuffs of animal origin, as well as vegetables and other horticultural comestible products which are prepared or preserved for consumption.
This Class includes, in particular:
meat-, fish-, fruit- or vegetable-based food;

edible insects;

milk beverages with milk predominating;

milk substitutes, for example, almond milk, coconut milk, peanut milk, rice milk, soya milk;

preserved mushrooms;
-
pulses and nuts prepared for human consumption;

seeds prepared for human consumption, not being seasonings or flavourings”
The specific class for edible insects, not live, is 290210.
There you have it. Make sure you get the right Trademark Classification for your bug food.

I unfortunately know where there is an edible insect facility. The insects are crickets. The facility is on the outskirts of London, Ontario off the 401. The company is called Aspire. They have won a contest for having a sustainable food source.
