Yeah, I lived in Quebec, and was married in Quebec, tho I'm a westerner, then lived in Ottawa for years, and knew scads of Outaouais good ol' boys up the and down the valley - say Wakefield, Port Coulonge, Aylmer (was married in Aylmer) . I think Chretien called these guys "bleu de bleus" if I recall (blueberry pickers). I met Chretien twice, and when he was in the political wilderness, used to work in
my building at 50 OConnor in Ottawa.
These are the same Quebecois that showed up for the truckers protests. Most of the province is insufferably socialist, but there's a good minority that just has plain ol' common sense.
