Metropolis is one of the organizations I am tracking that leads to governance of our municipalities through an overarching global framework. The last decade has been a push for these types of international organizations focused on morphing changes through municipalities. (C40, GCoM, UCLG, etc.) and these organizations that dominate the municipal area are the implementation of the 15 minute cities, the war on mobility, the zero vision (no pedestrian fatalities) NET ZERO.
So Metropolis forecasts a decline in vehicle demand.
Isn’t that precious. They work with C40 as a ‘partner’ organization. This organization dictates that by 2030 there should be zero private vehicles.
Who is deciding this? Global organizations playing chess with our municpal by laws and climate plans.
they get the Mayors to sign on. They need to go right to the kids. build a minecraft cities: What if people stopped owning cars? and it is only because there is no efficient transportation that they own them.
NO. Lady that’s not it. Our kids were forced into these design a new city projects at school. So hey it is part of the curriculum to naturalize the kids into this mode of thinking and to accept the loss of personal autonomy and mobility.
Instead of saying OK the partners like C40 actually dictate that these are ‘necessary changes’. Metropolis suggests it will become organic that we do not have vehicles.
Teaching them to accept no cars is no small feat. So they aim their social engineering at kids through the curriculum. klymhate.
“Echoing a forecast of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), which predicts a substantial decline in vehicle demand in the foreseeable future2 , participants of the City Managers’ Community 2022 concur that environmental concerns will lead to a reduction in private car ownership in the upcoming years. Should this projection materialize and become a prevailing trend, the expansion and availability of car-sharing initiatives in remote and cost-effective areas will pose significant challenges, necessitating community-driven effort to overcome them.”
Sadiq Khan who is rolling out the Ultra Low Emission Zones in London is also now the Global Chair of C40 cities. following ULEZ in London is following the hope they have for all c40 cities (and those of the Global Covenant of Mayors)
If we are going to be successful in fighting the Climate C40 initiatives we will need to get into the cities and remove our arrangements with these global infrastructures.
Net ZERO by 2030. and reducing Air Pollution.
Ok so we lose mobility for ‘our own good’. Gotta love how they recycle the pitch. From covid to climate, loss of freedom and mobility is always for our own good. If Sadiq Khan is the head of the C40 ANd he is introducing ULEZ is there anything else we should be worried about?
that would be yes. He is working on charging by the mile tax.
Sadiq Khan investing £150m in ‘secret’ technology that could deliver pay-per-mile road charging
London Mayor employing 157 staff on TfL scheme amid claims he is stepping up war on motorists.
According to the Telegraph
“Sadiq Khan is investing £150 million on a “secret” technology project capable of charging motorists a pay-per-mile road tax, The Telegraph can reveal.
The scheme, called Project Detroit, was set up by Transport for London (TfL) to create a “more sophisticated… new core technology platform for road-user charging”.
A series of Freedom of Information (FoI) requests show 157 staff are now working solely on the scheme, with some engineers being paid more than £100,000 a year.
In total £21 million has already been spent on the project, which started in 2021, but the “platform has an estimated final cost of between £130 million to £150 million”.
But Conservatives at City Hall claim Project Detroit, which is creating a single “road user charging” platform for the congestion charge, Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) and Low Emission Zone, could be used to introduce a charge based on the distance driven in cars within London.
One FoI response from TFL says: “The Detroit platform has the capability to be extended and we will be looking to build the system flexibly so that other forms of charging based on distance, vehicle type, etc could be catered for if a decision was made in future to do so.”
OK so the C40: works with its sister organizations through our municipalites. they go righta after kids through the schools. they pitch it as fully convenience.
But C4O,s head is asking us to pay by the mile.
And the Arup Leeds report says no personal vehicles by 2030.
Metropolis discusses funding our prison systems this way:https://www.metropolis.org/sites/default/files/2023-10/City-Managers2023_ENG_2023_ok4.pdf
“To augment financing/funding, it is advisable to explore alternative or additional sources, which may include> Higher taxation on motorcycle, as they potentially reduce the number of public transport users and contribute to accidents and pollution. > Introduction of a traffic tax and road use fee, which is currently in its early stages of discussion, particularly in low emissions zones and congestion charges. > Charging a fee or taxes for parking lots or public space usage (especially for larger delivery companies) can be explored to generate revenue for public transport. > A corporation tax (as implemented in Toulouse) or levies on economic activities, particularly for companies with more than 11 employees commuting to/from their workspaces, can be considered. > Financial instruments that capture land use value associated with public infrastructure projects (as seen in Medellin) can be utilized to capitalize on land price increases.”
This is the Digital solutions that Metropolis proposes:
“→ Further digitization of public transport access tokens (such as tickets, cards, QR codes) should be pursued, coupled with the gradual adoption of Account Based Ticketing (ABT) models to replace traditional fare-box tickets.
→ Leveraging advanced technologies and information systems, it becomes possible to capture and analyse usage metrics of citizens. In this context, big data emerges as a promising solution.
→ By comprehensively understanding how individuals navigate within a given city through a robust big data platform, policy makers and stakeholders can develop targeted policies and pilot projects that address the diverse needs of commuters. This encompasses the implementation of progressive and tailored fare structures, as well as enhanced integration of various modes of transportation’
Mobility solutions proposed by Metropolis
“→ One notable recommendation is the conversion of public transportation into the employees’ company car through a system that settles public transport usage with the employer (to the full extent or covering a high amount). This can be achieved by employing clearing systems combined with post-payment mechanisms, such as Account Based Ticketing (ABT), which can bring about disruptive changes.
→ The implementation of this practice can be customized to either cover the ‘in itinere’ usage or extend to the entire city, depending on the private sector’s willingness to participate. This approach offers several compelling advantages, including tax benefits for companies and workers, the ability to introduce progressive policies, and the potential extension of labour benefits to the employee’s family”
The sheer amount of organizations working on ending freedom of mobility is astonishing.
Once Sadiq has his by the mile tax, what will London’s response be?
We may need the trackers again.
Notice if you give the little propaganda video at the beginning a thumbs down it does not register. Now look at how many have watched and only 8 thumbs up......you can only image the number of thumbs down is huge but they hide that. And comments a closed.
It is time to be mindful of how people in society are influenced. It is of upmost importance to be aware of how people are divided by propaganda and government messaging.
